In recent weeks, we have received several requests from our customers asking us to consider producing larger winch drums. In response to this feedback, we undertook a process of listening, experimenting, and testing to ensure that any new products would meet your needs.
Traditionally, our winch drums have been available in four diameters: 32mm, 36mm, 40mm, and 42mm. These were supplied with a choice of fittings, including a 6mm Hex drive, a 25T spline fitting, or without any fitting, to suit a range of requirements.
After rigorous testing, we are delighted to announce the addition of 46mm and 50mm diameter winch drums to our range. These new drums are designed to fit the same winch mounts as our existing models, ensuring seamless compatibility and installation.
The introduction of these larger drums will be particularly beneficial for those with powerful winches, especially when attempting downwind flick gybes. The increased diameter provides improved handling and control, offering an effective solution for demanding sailing manoeuvres.
