Our latest Adjustable Wire Kicker for IOM and other r/c yachts, designed with John Gill for easy kicker tension control.
Ultra-lightweight at under 6g, this compact adjuster fits snugly into your boom end and features a convenient thumb wheel for easy adjustment — no more struggling with kickers trapped deep in mast wells.
Constructed in 3D printed plastic and doubled 0.6mm 7-strand stainless steel wire, it easily handles the forces of modern IOM boats. For larger classes, upgrade to 0.8mm or thicker wire.
The system routes through a small hole in the boom, passes through a stainless steel fairlead, and attaches directly to your gooseneck lower tang via crimped eyes or using a small shackle.

Fitting supplied assembled together with 1m 0.6mm wire, fairlead for 11.1mm boom, 2 crimping ferrules to make looks in the 7-strand wire.
Please note that the current fitting is designed for the 11.1mm boom material supplied by Pierre Gonnet and Rob Walsh with an internal diameter of 9.8mm. It may fit other 11mm booms but please check the internal diameter of your booms first. We may be releasing variants for other boom material in the future.
