Jib Boom Tack End Fitting with Counterweight Holder
3D printed foresail boom tack fitting that triples up as your counterweight holder and your Cunningham.
Slides into the boom and includes a short, tight, overhang to fit over the outside of the boom, helping to prevent the boom splitting. Ensure on final fitting that the part is pushed completely onto the boom and into the skirt overhang as indicated in the drawings.
Once fitted it is unlikely that you will be able to rotate the fitting so we suggest that you fit this to your boom first and then align all other components to it.
The counterweight hole is initially undersized and should be enlarged carefully using small drills or reamers. Start undersize and increase the hole diameter in increments until your counterweight shaft passes through under moderate force. You can increase the friction further by putting a small bend into the holder shaft.
Recessed slot allows for forestay to be attached around the counterweight using an eye on the end of the forestay wire.
Sail cunningham lines may be reaved through the holes in the fitting and led back to an adjuster on the boom.
